| Upon your evening arrival in Lima, we will welcome you to Peru and will take you to the exclusive Country Club Lima Hotel, a five star luxury property, located in San Isidro, the most exclusive residential and commercial district in Lima. Built in 1927, completely refurbished in 1998, it is now considered a National Monument. |
In the morning we will visit the Rafael Larco Herrera Archaeological Museum, featuring the “Gold and Silver Collection from Golden Peru” and the famous Erotic Art Room. The museum was built over a 17th Century Pre-Columbian pyramid. It is the largest, most astonishing Peruvian Pre-Columbian private art collection in the world. For lunch we will go to Cebicheria La Mar, owned by our good friend and renowned chef Gaston Acurio, where you will enjoy a special menu selected by the chef with the best of Peruvian seafood. After lunch we will take a guided tour in Lima. In this excursion, you will visit the colonial & modern zone of the city: the Main Square, the Cathedral, Pizarro´s Grave, and the old streets with their vice royal mansions and Moorish style balconies. In the evening we will have dinner at Astrid & Gaston Restaurant. Founded in 1994, this “Peruvian Author’s Food” restaurant has achieved international prestige. This restaurant is the first of the many that he owns in Lima and all over South and Central America, and soon in the U.S.A and Europe. In a recent edition of Elle´s magazine he was mentioned, together with Charlie Trotter and Thomas Keller, as the “Three chefs that broke the mold” at Madrid Fusion World Culinary Event. Here we will have the chef's specially designed menu for dinner that without a doubt will delight you. |
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel we will depart towards Surquillo Market, near the Miraflores district, where many of today’s high-end restaurants are situated. Here we will find many of the vegetable and fruit varieties found all over Peru. Afterwards we will go 25 minutes south to Pulpos Beach, where we will guide you through the Hands on Class at our parent’s beach house, right beside the sea shore. There you will learn about using local ingredients for the different dishes of the Peruvian Coast as well as the history and origin of these products. The delicious dishes you prepare will be our meal. In the afternoon we will go to the bohemian district of Barranco, where many artists live. We will visit studios, art galleries, and some artistic design shops. Then you will have some free time to rest or for leisure. At night we will attend an inspirational Demonstration Cooking Class of Nikkei cuisine (fusion Japanese-Peruvian) with Chef Humberto Sato, considered to be the father of Nikkei Cuisine. A selected chef's menu will be served for dinner at his famous Costanera 700 Restaurant. After dinner we recommend that you join us at La Huaka Restaurant for a Pisco Sour. |
After breakfast we will head to Pachacamac Ruins, situated south of Lima. Pachacamac sanctuary dates back to 200 a.c. and is related to the origins of Lima culture. Then we will visit a Peruvian Horse ranch, where we will see the demonstration of this unique horse. The Peruvian Paso is a breed descended from Berber´s, Spanish jennet and Andalusian horses. Afterwards, you will have a Ceviche Demonstration Class with Cucho La Rosa, ceviche master chef, at his restaurant which is located in a colonial “hacienda” named Casa Blanca. Cucho, is not only a great cook but also one of the pioneers in developing “Novo Andina” cuisine. Afterwards, we will visit our parents’ pottery studio Jallpa Nina where you will learn about local artisans work. There will be a dessert menu made with local fruits from Lurin valley. Then we will go back to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. At 7 pm we will have a Pisco Tasting and a lecture by Johnny Shuler, president of Peruvian Pisco Association. Pisco is a clear brandy made from grapes cultivated along the central-southern coast of Peru. After tasting and drinking a few of these pisco drinks, we will have a Peruvian-Amazonian influenced special Menu created by our close friend Chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino at his restaurant, Malabar. Pedro is a young chef graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in New York and from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Torino, Italy. He is one of the most recognized Peruvian chefs in and outside Peru, and promises much more. |
| Early morning you will be driven to the airport where we will take Lan Peru’s one-hour flight to Cusco. On arrival, we have arranged reception and travel to Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, passing through the milenary salt deposits of Mara, Moray and Pisac, which is a typical market with terraces cultivated upon the mountains. After check-in at the Casa Andina Private Collection Hotel, we will have lunch at Casa Lambarri Hacienda made with ingredients and produce from the “huerta” (garden) enjoying an astounding view of the valley. Afterwards, we will visit Ollaytantambo. This archaeological complex was a huge agricultural, administrative, social, religious, and military center in the Tahuantinsuyo era. The town is considered a living museum. For dinner, at the hotel we will have tapas Novoandinas while enjoying an ancient ritual thanking Pachamama (Mother Earth) for her productivity. |
Early morning we will travel to Machu Picchu , the Lost City of the Incas, via Vistadome train. The train will arrive in Aguas Calientes, and check-in at the Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel, the most exclusive hotel in Aguas Calientes and closest to Machu Picchu. We will then tour Machu Picchu, , one of the most outstanding archaeological wonders of the world and then have lunch at Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge. In the afternoon, after this amazing and mystical experience, we will head back to the hotel where you can enjoy a replenishing massage session at the natural Axlla Spa, famous for its millenary therapeutic techniques related to thermal baths and medical plants used by ancient peruvians. The evening dinner will be at the hotel’s Qunuq restaurant which blends traditional Andean food with contemporary cuisine, creating an innovative fusion-style fare, impeccably served. |
| Early morning we will take the Vistadome Orient Express Train to Ollantaytambo and a minibus will wait for us to take us to Cusco City. Cusco was the capital of the Tahuantinsuyo Empire, founded around the 11th Century by Inca Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo who emerged from Titicaca Lake, as one of the myths tell. This Inca Empire extended to what today is the coast and Andes of Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Argentina until 1533 when the last Inca, Atahualpa was killed by Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro. Cusco City has a colonial appearance; these colonial buildings were built on top of the Incas foundations. For lunch we will have an Andean Fusion designed menu at Cicciolina´s Restaurant. Afterwards you will have a city tour by the main square. We will visit the Cathedral, Korikancha temple and the San Blas quarter. In the evening we will have a specially created dinner menu at Bohemia Restaurant, the third restaurant of the Bohemia group founded in 1995 by Penelope,our dad and their partners.

We will fly back to Lima early morning. On arrival, we have arranged reception and travel to Country Club Lima Hotel (day-use room). At noon we will gather for a Pachamanca, Quechua word for earth pot. It is a joyful ritual in which the Andean man communicates with Pachamama (mother earth) in order to honor and thank fertility of the land he cultivates and inhabits. This feast will take place in Jallpa Nina, where our family has been celebrating Pachamanca with friends for years in many special occasions. Also, there will be a Demo class on the dip-sauces that are served with the Pachamanca. Then, we will get ready to travel to the airport for our flight back home. Buen viaje y hasta pronto! |
